Carvings at Starbucks

12/17/2012

Delivered some carvings for the Centralia Starbucks wall.  They'll be hanging there through Christmas, until early January.

Barristas and public said very nice things as we hung them.  The wires on the back are meant to be used on fixed nails in a wall so on the hanging system at Starbucks, they lean out from the wall; this creates shadow and a three dimensional effect that makes them quite striking.

I also finished the right hand and left index finger for Mary and she has gone home to the Centralia hospital where she is supposed to be on display for Christmas; It was nice to enable her to come out of the storage closet where she'd been relegated after she lost her original Italian hand.

In between, I've built a little Douglas fir burl and maple Christmas tree ornament with clothes pin feet.
