Rattle of cedar, brass bells, abalone, marbles, hematite and shell; measures about 16" in all directions. Leo and Henry, two young blue footed boobies; one a baby and the other a juvenile were created to go with the adult blue footed booby sold a month or so ago. They seem to be very good friends and pretty happy. Curious Grebe Rattle is from American Chestnut, grown at Elma, WA; it measures 22"long by 7"wide by 6" high; it has brass bells inside for the ratttle. My other rattles are glued together; this one is tied as it's inspired by some photos of Twana and Clallam rattles from the turn of the 20th century. Sleek and Full, the salmon is red cedar and measures 36" long; it was made on commission for outside a house at Ocean Shores; it's now going inside. So, they want one, not as pretty for outside... Do you see a pintail coming along? Foxes are to replace those stolen last summer; I carved them; others painted and placed them on the signs. The 3' salmon is for a house at Ocean Shores, outside wall. The western grebe is a rattle in the making. |
